Toriano Porter convicted of domestic violence in the 2nd degree

On November 14, 2011, Toriano Porter was convicted of domestic violence in the 2nd degree for stabbing his sister in the neck. With two prior felony convictions, he faces 15 to 99 years or life. Leann White and Tim Gann were the prosecutors.
Robert Spencer convicted of two counts of sodomy in the first degree and one count of first degree sexual abuse

Robert Spencer was convicted of two counts of sodomy in the first degree and one count of first degree sexual abuse on November 4th. The vicitim was an 8 year old girl. He faces 10 to 99 years or life on the sodomy charges and 1 to 10 years on the sex abuse charge. The case was prosecuted by Leann White.
Jury rejects insanity defense; Miles found guilty of capital murder

District Attorney Robert Broussard and Assistant District Attorney Maggie Wallace successfully prosecuted Samuel Miles for the 2009 murder of neighbor Linda Keller. The jury deliberated for 2 hours on August 31 before convicting Miles of capital murder. The State did not seek the death penalty. Judge Alan Mann sentenced the defendant to life without the possiblity of parole.

During the week of August 8th, a jury found Billy Bennet guilty of manslaughter in the 2009 death of Charles "Ray" Helms. Assistant District Attorney Maggie G. Wallace was the prosecutor. Judge Mann set sentencing for Sept. 9th at 9am.
